Oki and Nobbin Day 18: Wiggle

A dubious meeting with Eden's Magistrate goes even worse than expected, and Nobbin finds his new favourite food, against all odds.

Oki had been in cuffs before, and she'd been treated badly by her captors before, but nothing felt quite as miserable as being detained by the Eden police.

It wasn't that they were torturing her — the Sygamants had done far worse on that count — it was that they kept finding petty little ways to demonstrate their power over her. Bumping her head on the way into the patrol ship, or smacking the door into her toe as she entered the station, or the ten separate times they tripped her up on the way down the hall.
