This post is from a version of my blog with inconsistent timestamps: evidently I was very good at defining 'modified' dates, but not 'created' dates. As such, I can't be sure when the content was actually written. Sorry!

Truth be told, I am dead tired today. I don't know why. It may have something to do with all the bloody work I've been doing the last few days, but dunno.

On the "yeehaw" list for this coming week are:

Broadcast dealings: Been talking to a few people in the industry, and what with the state of Canadian drama being... er... inspiring and all, they are suggesting we make a concerted effort to put together a proposal to get Liberty Bell on the air. I have some interest in this, but not in the way I think they mean. For the next two or so weeks I am going to be run over by serious amounts of non-LB work, but after that I think it may be fruitful to contemplate a proper business plan.

Corporate sponsors: the question emerges: there are companies that are good matches for Liberty Bell (in terms of advertising, target audience etc) that probably don't have pre-made commercials or (gasp!) quality commercials to inject into our shows. So, taking a page from the Robocop movies... the idea occurs to me that perhaps we can get more advertisers interested, and keep the jarring-ness of such advertisements reduced, by making ads part of the episodes to some degree. A futuristic commercial for a new video card, for example. Especially given our market, it could work. Might try running that by a few companies now that I've thought of it :)

Blender s'more: Story on Slashdot today talked about Blender, and some of my concerns were voiced and not put to rest. There was an especially amusing rant against 3ds which I personally don't agree with, but it was fun all the same. Story is here.

depthCore: This is a bit of a quasi-announcement because while I got a positive response, I didn't in fact get a definitive "yes" to my query. But nonetheless: the artists' collective that 0wnz MC in the series was always going to have some crazy abstract and futuristic art that would have a dominating presence in the show... but now we're going to call them depthCORE, which is actually a real-life artists' collective that does some funky cool schtuff. For now the connection is in name and reputation only, but as we start production, we'll start commissioning lots of artwork to render into the show. It's gonna make it so much more fun to look at!

Do something: I've already said a few times this project isn't about saving lives, so don't donate if you have something better to do with your money. Just wanted to point you to this page where you can sponsor Wil Wheaton and his wife while they walk a marathon for cancer. I know an unfortunate number of people who have or have had cancer, and if you didn't know already, this is a very important thing to contribute to. Do yeah. Go donate. Cause that Wil guy is doing something that is actually important.

Tidbits: I have already written (but not made live) a page about the new contract for artists. Having trouble with the PDF stuff. Hopefully tonight.

Gallery is going live soonish, but it may wait until I have more art to put in. Will be making a Job Board soon to find people for key roles beyond what I know already. "Job" being a relative term.

Wex doesn't like the site and wants me to change it. Am considering his request.

Blackout possible: I am hopefully leaving for a trip to Japan with m'wife and kids in a few months, and to accomplish this I need to pack away a bit of extra cash. So while I kill myself doing this "other" work, my serious updates to LB may become irregular. Do not be alarmed :)

Over and out.
