New merchandise, ideas

This post is from a version of my blog with inconsistent timestamps: evidently I was very good at defining 'modified' dates, but not 'created' dates. As such, I can't be sure when the content was actually written. Sorry!

New merchandise at CafePress now. A few variations, all tagged with the 5p14t logo. We've got a few fun options for y'all:

  • 0wn3d since 2024: refers to the founding of 5p14t, and is perfect for making no sense in public
  • In Soviet Russia, the shirts wear YOU!: Makes perfect sense if you are in to that kind of thing
  • h4x0r3d in Tokyo: A japanese shirt for all you western otaku... cause now you can be exotic, too!
I am also playing with these new doodles I have of Garamond and Darien. I really must stress I am capable at artwork, but not a genius, so I am a bit hesitant to even release this stuff for fear it might scare people away. I will ask my kids if they like the pictures and maybe post them over the weekend if the response is positive.

New ideas: I am halfway through developing a little feature for the site that lets me define parts of the LB project (projectlets if you will) that need doing to complete the whole. After we find a contractor to quote for a projectlet, I have a little PayPal-linked donate button that will let you, as a supporter, donate straight to just that projectlet. So you can target your donation very easily. there are a few technical things to work out, but it should be operational soon.

I am contemplating a cheap marketing campaign to bring in new eyes, but I think I'll wait till I see how things evolve over the next few weeks. More on that when it becomes relevant.
