RRCC

This post is from a version of my blog with inconsistent timestamps: evidently I was very good at defining 'modified' dates, but not 'created' dates. As such, I can't be sure when the content was actually written. Sorry!

My codeword for Real RoboCop Commercial, which is intended to evoke images of the commercials they used in the Robocop movies, set in the same time period, that kind of gave a flavour of the sickness of the society. I don't mean to imply RRCCs would be implying Monitor City is a sick place, because they're "real" commercials --- for real companies --- so they'd be very positive, I think.

The "real" part is the neat part, I reckon. Like the banners we had on the old Dustrunners site advertising things from 2001 in 2036, these commercials would be advertising the virtues of the new (for instance) ATI cards to citizens of Monitor City, animated in the same style, blended in perfectly so you know it's not real, but you still get the message.

I guess the other half of this technique would be the RCCs, which would be "RoboCop Commercials", which would be in-theme commercials for fake products and companies, such as Illiayson and the Pleasure Palace. Oh, and Odin Mining. That'd be a riot (Typhies, hello!)
