Content License Issue (UPDATED)

MCMFriday, May 16, 2003
This post is from a version of my blog with inconsistent timestamps: evidently I was very good at defining 'modified' dates, but not 'created' dates. As such, I can't be sure when the content was actually written. Sorry!

Not that the "first post" comment didn't shed great light on the issue, but we're going to get right down to it, take the plunge, and pick us a license to get things rolling. So from today on, Dustrunners content is (unless otherwise noted) released under the Attribution-ShareAlike from Creative Commons (yay!)

What does this mean? Well, in a sense it means exactly what it looks like: we're letting anyone grab hold on the work we've done and turn it into something bigger and better. It also means that, when you write something in response to an article here, your comments can be assimilated into the Dustrunners world too... we're getting the ball rolling (more on that shortly) but when it's all humming along, everyone gets to be in on the action.

As far as ball-rolling, here is the current plan: we are going to release what we already have developed on this site in something resembling an orderly fashion over the next few weeks. There will be some holes in the release schedule while we clarify the new license with the interested parties, but there should be something neat to play with soon.

All content released under a Creative Commons BY-NC license except the contents of "TV" section, which belong to their respective owners.
