The Exploding Hourglass
So I’m trying to make the most of my Adobe Stock subscription (I forgot I had it for, like, 2017) by creating covers for entirely made-up books. I’ve done a few of these in the past, but I’m going to be SCHEDULED from now on. In theory.
This week’s is actually a totally different thing: I was responding to news of someone scamming their way onto the NYT bestseller list, on Twitter, and got into a silly conversation with Annalee Newitz, founder of io9 and all-around brilliant person. As part of that riff, we conspired to further scam the NYT with a book by Flash McBurnin, with a long history of awesome short stories and webcomics, whose “The Exploding Hourglass” is a YA hit and due to be adapted by none other than Michael Bay.
And so, not wanting to be ACTUALLY productive for 21 minutes, I made this cover.
Yes, I am ashamed.
