Sell! Sell! Sell!

This post is from a version of my blog with inconsistent timestamps: evidently I was very good at defining 'modified' dates, but not 'created' dates. As such, I can't be sure when the content was actually written. Sorry!
Well, we're off to a good start. Before I even draw a single picture for this show, I've already got a sticker and kids' t-shirt made up and ready for sale. If you can't sell a phantom idea, what good is your series gonna be, right?
So here is my current plan, money-wise:
- Make a line of Cafe Press merchandise. Evolve it as it goes along. Mark things up a healthy amount, but not too much.
- Ads from Google. Good for incidental revenue.
- Donations. Please.
- Tiered subscription-type access. Still trying to figure it out. The thing of it is that there are elements to the LB story that I don't want the general public to know about, because it ruins some surprises. Spoilers, if you will. So I'd rather keep those hush-hush. But then there are some things IN THOSE SPOILERS that I'd love for people to comment on. So my best bet is tiered user accounts, where a registered user at level 2 can see the spoiler info, but level 1 can't.
I'd love to charge a low monthly fee for that, but I'd have to figure out something actually VALUABLE to go along with the spoilers.
I'm also contemplating paid placements in episodes. I mean, I'm already planning on whoring out big product placements for certain companies, but maybe something a little more subtle. Paid cameos. Have to think on it.
