5pl4t (splat) is the leading hacker gang in MC. They're really script kiddies gone bad, but they have a tag and members and get high together, so they kind of resolve as a gang-like entity, really. They were founded in 2024 by a guy named L33fer (now a technology analyst), who decided that what MC needed was a little anarchy to stay on its toes.

5p14t is mostly a joke. The members take it seriously, but no one else does, really. Their exploits are always low-grade, their culture makes them comical, and they don't dare go up against more reputable Hats like Kaso or Espey. The only people that really ph34r them are companies outside MC, who don't always have the benefit of 24-hour security experts making sure their homepages don't get tagged.
