My Kid Made Music
I am pretty relaxed about releasing art online, because I've been doing it for a long time. Since 1999, in fact, when I was doing art and stories for fun. At this point in my life, putting something out into the world is more a function of having time, not being brave.
And yet I am currently overwhelmed with anxiety because my oldest daughter just released her first song for sale/streaming, and suddenly all the worries I have been immune to are rushing in and making me very very tense.
It's a very good song — I can say that with certainty because I thought it was a good song before she told me she wrote it — and it's done in the odd 5/4 as a kind of challenge — so evidently some personality traits are genetic — and yes, go listen to it, or else.
It's called Safe Haven in 5 by Kiko A and if you leave it on endless repeat for a few days, I will not blame you.
